SeaQuest Dive Center in Bohol

Started in December 1990 we were of the first dive centers that opened on the white sands of Alona beach, with it's own BBQ/restaurant area where we serve cool drinks and fresh fruit shakes. This is the base where you will want to hang-out after your dive day, enjoy a couple of drinks and watch the beach life stroll before your eyes. This center has character!

The Dive shop is right in front of the resort and can be reached within a minute, your dive equipment can be stored overnight at the dive shop so no need to carry equipment back to your room, furthermore our staff will load your tanks into the dive boat, all you have to do is show up on time and off you go for an excellent days diving!

SeaQuest Dive Center is a  PADI 5 Star Dive Center. PADI This means that next to organizing fun dives we also offer a complete range of scuba diving courses. We can introduce you to the wonderful underwater life (introduction dive) and we can teach you to become a PADI professional.

In Bohol we normally plan two dives a day, if you would like to make more then two dives we can schedule that for you, no problem! We normally set out at 9.30 AM and the second dive is finished around 3PM. Of course we are always prepared to make early morning dives and night dives are also possible any given day, just express your wish to one of our dive masters and it will be scheduled.

The center operates 2 local banca's and two speedboats. banca's are local outrigger boats, commonly used in these waters and over the years have proven themselves seaworthy. To get to nearby dive sites we use speedboats (with sunroofs) mounted with Yamaha outboard engines. All outrigger boats and dive centers are fitted with oxygen, first aid, spare equipment and communication facilities to react speedy and adequate in an emergency situation. To avoid emergency situations we are very strict on dept limits, maximum depth is 40meters/130 feet and we don't make deco-dives. If necessary there is a fully equipped recompression chamber centrally located in Cebu city.

The Bohol shop is equipped with Cressie-Sub dive gear. We provide 10, 12 and 15 litre aluminum tanks with international valves. If you use a DIN regulator then please bring an adaptor. To fill our dive tanks we use a Bauer V15 compressor that provides you with good clean air. We also offer Nitrox fills up to 32%. There is also a little dive shop with things that you might need, like a very cool SeaQuest DC T-shirt. "Hey you can't leave without one!"

Our team consists of all local people, who have been diving for a long time. These guys know their stuff! They take big pride in showing you al the special things this area has to offer. After the dive they will be more than happy to talk about the dive and the marine life you came across.

Top notch dive site here is definitely Balicasag Island, this island has some very high class diving. There are two more islands on offer, Pamilacan- and Cabilao-Island. All three islands have very different underwater scenery on offer. The reefs around the island of Panglao, where the dive shop is located offers many different underwater scenes and are easy to reach, our house reef is a great place for a night dive.

Every now and then we get some big plankton eaters showing up. Whale sharks and Manta's are seen here, some years more than others but we can't really say when it is the best time. You just got to be lucky. Arco point, Black Forest and even House Reef where visited in the past.

The most popular dive sites of Bohol are:

BALICASAG ISLAND (5 sites) Close to the wall are schools of snappers, fusiliers, turtles and mouth mackerel. Head out a little into the blue water and you may well see schools of barracuda and big eyed jacks that have made residence here. Watch out too for passing giant trevally and tuna. All around the island there is an abundance of fish life. Get caught up in a 'donut' of Jack-fish and be amazed at how many fish just keep coming at you. There are also a couple of schools of Juvenile Barracudas hunting in these waters and turtles also seem to like these waters...we are sure you will like it here also! When we head of to Balicasag Island we make two or three dives there. The dive sites we do that particular day will be determent by our dive guides when we get there. Experienced eyes will try to figure out where it is most interesting to dive that day.

Travel time to Balicasag Island is more or less 45 min by banca.
